Full Body
Liposuction
Full body
liposuction is the process by which excess fats are
removed from various parts of the body, all at once. This
procedure is also defined as the express removal of more than
five litres of body fat from the body by surgical means, i.e.
by use of a funnel shaped tube, a cannula.
Necessity and
candidacy
This
procedure is generally recommended and allowed for fat
individuals of sound mind and emotional health. It is also
recommended for obese people, especially those with a realistic
view of the surgery’s expectations. In most cases, this
procedure targets patients who are between 30 and 40 pounds
overweight and those with extremely huge waists. According to
most medics, this procedure is capable of taking at least 6
inches off in an obese patient in one go. It covers the removal
of fats in at least five body parts at once, compared with the
other forms of liposuction which cover a localised
location.
Process and
procedure
Unlike
other conventional types of liposuction, this one tends to
remove excess fats from various body points at one time (at
least five body parts). Generally, it starts by the numbing of
the selected regions to be skimmed of fats using anaesthesia.
This is followed by the making of an incision in each and every
one of those selected body parts, using a scalpel or small
surgical knife. These holes are generally small, at
approximately 1.5 mm in diameter and less than 2mm in depth.
This is followed by an insertion of the cannula tube within the
incision. In a back and forth manner, the cannula is moved in
and out of the incision to break down the fat layers, located
below the skin. The excess broken fats are then extracted off
the skin and out of the body. The incisions are then covered
with normal surgical stitches to normalcy.

Factors that affect the
results of a full body
liposuction
On most
occasions, the full body liposuction procedure is considered
safe. However, there are a few innate factors that may affect
the results and safety rate of the procedure. They
include:
1. Age-
Older patients have a higher risk level in the operation
compared to the younger ones.
2.
Gender-Females have a better recovery process compared to the
males because they have less fibrous tissues.
3. Medical
history- Prior consumption of anti-clotting drugs like aspirin
may lengthen the blood clotting period, which may eventually
lead to anaemia.
4. Strength
of immune system- Patients with a weaker immune system
generally heal slower, as compared to those with a stable
immune system.
Although
full body liposuction is a generally safe and convenient way
for obese and heavy weight people to drastically lose or shed
their weights, its very nature can have grave medical
implications. Some of these include regular bruises and
soreness, scars, itching and infection.
It is therefore in the interest
of the patient that they avoid strain, maintain wound
cleanliness, accept the liposuction results as they come and
keep up with all doctor advice for a better transition and
health.
